Abstract:

This paper presents an analytical technique for calculating static and seismic response of low-rise shear wall structures. The displacement response is resulting from bending, shear, and bond deformations. The bending and shear deformations are coupled and can be determined separately. The hysteresis rules are developed for inelastic structural analysis and are also modelled separately for bending and shear. Several numerical examples are provided from which one may observe that the shear deformation is significant and that the analytical results are compared favorably with experimental data.
