Abstract:

Over the past several years, a number of the scientists involved with the high-level radioactive waste repository project have expressed concern regarding the application of quality assurance (QA) requirements to the work they are doing on the project. This paper summarizes the nature of a cross-section of these concerns and proposes the application of Total Quality Management (TQM) as an approach to help alleviate these concerns.
