Abstract:

The Standard Contract for the Disposal of Spent Nuclear Fuel and/or High-Level Radioactive Waste specifies various activities necessary for the eventual acceptance of spent nuclear fuel from utilities by DOE. One of these activities is the Delivery Commitment Schedule process. This paper discusses the background for the Delivery Commitment Schedule process, outlines the Delivery Commitment Schedule process as it is contained in the Contract, and suggests some modifications that might be adopted to improve the process.
