Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Energy in the 90's

Abstract:

This paper outlines the effort of two utilities to minimize the impact of an 1100 megawatt lignite fired plant's waste stream on the environment. Current regulations, poor soil conditions and plant location all have had an impact on the methods available for disposal of excess ash and sludge as well as storage of wastewater. The methods of study, design and implementation are outlined in this paper.
