Hydrogen? The Clean Fuel of Tomorrow is Available Today
by David E. Bruderly, Bruderly Engineering Associates, Gainesville, United States,Document Type: Proceeding Paper
Part of: Energy in the 90's
Abstract:
This paper examines the role of fossil fuels and advocates a proactive energy policy to stimulate the use of domestically produced 'clean' energy carriers (fuels), such as hydrogen. The benefits of hydrogen as a fuel are presented. The conversion to hydrogen fueled transportation systems, using existing technology, offers immediate environmental and economic benefits. For example, the blending of hydrogen with natural gas to create a vehicle fuel (named Hythane) will significantly reduce tailpipe emissions.
