Laboratory Fatigue Investigation of a GRP Bridge
by Fred C. McCormick, Univ of Virginia, United States,Document Type: Proceeding Paper
Part of: Serviceability and Durability of Construction Materials
Abstract:
A fatigue study of a 4.9 m glass-reinforced plastic bridge indicated a resistance to 1.6 million cycles of load without extensive damage to joints or elements. Viscoelastic creep occurred during sustained loading. An ultimate static load of 74 kN was applied. Experimental and analytical test data are provided.
