Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Serviceability and Durability of Construction Materials

Abstract:

In this paper, the effect of different curing conditions on the flexural strength is investigated, and also the minimum required period for moist curing is found. The combined effect of the curing conditions on the strength of concrete is expressed with one variable, i.e. evaporation rate. Other factors reviewed in this paper include initial slump and aggregate type. The required curing periods selected with 95% confidence level to achieve the specified strength are between 2.8 and 6.7 days which depends on the curing conditions and other factors.
