Abstract:

As the first step of the development of a general two-phase flow model for debris flows, a simple granular model, which is considered as a special case of the two-phase flow model, is suggested here for ordinary debris flows. Although the preliminary study shows a good fit with the experimental results, a refined two-phase flow model is still needed in order to have insights into more aspects of debris flows.
