Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Abstract:

This paper briefly identifies problems with traditional approaches to debris-flow prediction and presents a simplified process-based model (Williams and others, 1988) to accomplish the task. It also explains the basis and necessity for the model's creation, and shares insights gained through its use in Wasatch Front canyons in Davis County, Utah.
