Abstract:

Long-term management of resources requires a comprehensive anlysis of the effects that development and management of one resource may be expected to exert upon other resources. However, when the High Aswan Dam in Egypt was planned in the early sixties, some environmental considerations were not foreseen. This paper discusses the negative and positive consequences of the High Aswan Dam on the Nile River.
