Abstract:

Three microcomputer models for synthetic estimation of origin-destination trip tables are compared based on theoretical foundations, implementability, and operating performances. Each of these models are capable of estimating a trip table that, when assigned to a network, reproduces observed volumes. However, solutions from each model are different. Due to lack of sufficient tests using real data, other features of these models must be used as criteria for selection.
