Several states and countries are currently reviewing the feasibility of developing a commercial spaceport in their homeland. United Engineers & Constructors Inc. completed an extensive feasibility study in February 1989, which evaluated the development of a commercial spaceport in Florida. The author, who was the Project Manager for Spaceport Florida, provides an overview of the issues, methods and findings which are contained in the study. In addition, he presents ideas on what analyses and implementation steps should be considered when developing plans for a commercial spaceport.
