Abstract:

Failure in biaxially stressed concrete is here modelled by the Mohr criterion. The reliability of a stress state is evaluated in terms of 2 load variables and 1 or 2 strength variables. The relation between the mean safety factor and the reliability index is demonstrated and compared for compression and tension/compression stress states. Formulation of the reliability model is shown to critically affect the results.
