Abstract:

This paper deals with the system reliability of semisubmersible platforms which are modelled as spatial frames and subjected to quasi-static extreme loads based on elasto-plastic strength analysis. The validity of the proposed method is demonstrated through a numerical example for a typical platform under notional extreme seastates.
