Abstract:

When there exist continuous transition states from the completely safe states to the completely failed states for structural components, the whole structure would behaves in the same way. The concept of satisfaction degree to each fuzzy constraint in Ref. [1] is adopted to describe this kind of failure state. The criteria the structure functions for a structural system are given. The method to analyze structural reliability with continuous failure stage is put forward and an example of reliability analysis of a statically indeterminate structure with static strength constraints is given. The method given here is an extension to the method of system reliability analysis with two-states or multistates. It can be applied also to other systems.
