Abstract:

A discussion of the planning phase of the building process associated with all the activities that are accomplished during this phase is presented. The different types of errors that occur during the planning and mobilization stages of the building process is considered. Error sources, causes and consequences are also discussed. The existence of errors or deficiencies in the building process may affect the control process for projects' safety, schedules, quality of work activities, and cash flow profile. Thus, a control strategy for the effect of errors in the planning stage is presented. Such control strategy is essentially needed to minimize the possibility of construction failures and accidents.
