Abstract:

In design and construction of engineered facilities, the cost of quality is a major cost item; perhaps exceeding one fourth the total installed project cost. A simple, flexible Quality Performance Management System is presented which tracks the costs of quality management by activity and relates them to the costs of rework by major cause. These costs are identified according to the phase of the project and major discipline of work involved.
