Abstract:

Coastal Zone '89 is the sixth in a series of multidisciplinary meetings on comprehensive coastal and ocean management. The papers included in this publication review technical knowledge and current practice for the improvement of planning, design, development, and conservation actions related to wetlands, coasts, and oceans. These topics are addressed from different points of view: engineering and science; data gathering and monitoring; legal, regulatory, and political aspects of coastal management; planning, conservation, and development; and public information and citizen participation.
