Abstract:

Sedimentation embodies the processes of erosion, transportation and deposition of sediments. At hydro developments, sedimentation can create problems. Computer sedimentation models (CSM's) are diverse and varied in nature. Functionally, CSM's can be classified into five major categories, i.e, watershed, stream, reservoir, estuarian and coastal sedimentation models. This paper discusses some of the author's experiences in computer modeling of stream sedimentation problems (SSP's) at hydro developments. Comparisons of the models developed and implemented in the United States are also included.
