Abstract:

Some basic statistical data covering geometrical and energy parameters for Kaplan and bulb turbine units are presented. These data are further compared as specific rations for both units, showing their principal relationship. The position of maximum efficiency and its value with regard to the specific speed for Kaplan and bulb turbines are given.
