Abstract:

Large hydro gates are custom designed to suit each particular installation. To prevent overlooking a feature that could lead to future problems, a check list of the numerous features should be considered when designing the gate equipment. This article presents a list of these features for different types of gates and hoists and the problems likely to arise, if these features are not given adequate consideration.
