Abstract:

This paper discusses the performance characteristics of the programmable logic controllers (PLC's) is based governor, particularly speed resolution and response times. The paper details the integration in the PLC of the traditional functions of the governor with the plant automation functions. The supervisory control capabilities of the PLC are detailed as the use of operator information screens and automatic printer operation, data logging, alarm message and event recording.
