Efficiency Monitoring Yields Large Revenue Gains

Abstract:

This paper presents a Washington Water Power Company program to increase hydroelectric plant operations' efficiency. This increase is due to improved flow, head, and megawatt data displayed on a continuous basis for the operator as power production efficiency. Improvements of over 6% have occurred.
