Abstract:

The Moose River Hydroelectric Project is a single-unit run-of-river hydroelectric facility located near Lyonsdale, New York, and was developed by a private firm. The generating equipment was bid as a complete water-to-wire package. The plant was put into commercial operation in November 1987. This paper describes certain salient mechanical and electrical design features of the project, check-out and testing of the unit, and overall performance of the facility.
