Abstract:

The main objective for this paper is to show how one can predict the sediment movement, and estimate the volume of the deposited sediments, which is considered as one of the factor affecting the reservoir useful. The High Aswan Dam reservoir case study, is characterised by the hugh inlet sediment during the flood season, which on the average amounts to 134 million ton per year. The application of mathematical modeling was tried by the writers as an approach to evaluate the annual deposited sediment volume, and determine the sediment front progress.
