Abstract:

The sediment transport phenomenon is one of the most difficult fields in water research. Due to the numerous parameters and various interactions among them several theoretical-empirical models were developed up to now. In this paper first 15 total sediment transport theories are compared with transport rates received from river measurements. The comparison is carried out by statistical means. Second the effect of variation of some hydraulic and sedimentologic parameters on the transport rate calculated after the different models is investigated.
