by Shou-shan Fan, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Sediment Transport Modeling

Abstract:

This paper discuss some of the author's experience in computer modeling of stream sedimentation problems. Comparisons of twelve selected models developed and implemented in the United States and discussions of their scientific bases are also included. The computer stream sedimentation models (CSSM's) selected for this study were: (1) six federally owned models including Corps' HEC6, TABS2 and IALLUVIAL, Bureau of Reclamation's STARS and GSTARS, U.S. Geological Survey's CHARACTERISTICS models; (2) six privately owned models including Holly's CHARIMA and SEDICOUP, Chang's FLUVIAL-12, Simons & Li's HEC2SR, and Chen's TWODSR and RESSED models.
