Abstract:

Numerical models for longterm morphological simulations are traditionally based on assumptions like vertical integration of the flow and transport equations and their decoupled treatment. In most cases the transport equation is solved by finite difference or finite element methods. Few models only apply Lagrangian tracer methods. A model of this type is presented which takes the vertical distribution of solid matter concentration into account.
