Abstract:
The Department of State plays a key role in resolving international environmental issues. This paper describes how the Department is organized to deal with environmental concerns, discusses some major issues that affect the global environment, and concludes with illustrations of the Department's work on two major global issues - depletion of the stratospheric ozone layer and global climate change.
