Abstract:

By the use of maximum daily temperature data, drought events can be defined by taking a certain truncation level to form the partial drought duration series. A drought series representing points of drought events in the time axis are associated with sequences of drought occurrence times and durations. The drought intensity function was developed to investigate the drought behavior based on their occurrence times. It is found that the drought intensity has a significant trend of increase in the studied region.
