Abstract:

A graphical display training simulator has been developed on a microcomputer to mimic the operation of a multi-reservoir water delivery system. The simulator functions as a training device for system operators and is particularly useful in management of water during simulated drought years (seasons). Management experience and operational expertise are gained in this manner where mistakes are not critical or costly as they might be on the real system. Also, system limitations in operation such as reservoir and channel capacities quickly become apparent.
