Abstract:

The Granite Reef Underground Storage and Recovery Project facility is an integral part of the largest water management system under development for the Phoenix metropolitan area. The project is a joint-venture of various community groups and its principal objective is to assure, in a cost-effective manner, the future water supplies for the residents of this area. Surplus water from the Central Arizona Project and excess river flows will be recharged by stream channel spreading in the Salt River and recovered by existing production wells.
