Abstract:

Musacchio & Rozen assessed the risks and vulnerabilities to a possible terrorist attack of the data processing center of a large European bank. With the increasing use by terrorist groups of civilian structures as targets, a number of private businesses in Europe are including such assessments in the design process. Computer centers make especially attractive terrorist targets. Based on an analysis combining data on terrorist tactics in the area and the facility's structural dynamics, they proposed a set of countermeasures designed to provide a level of protection acceptable to their client for key assets and building personnel.
