Abstract:

Evaluation of the axial capacity of an offshore pile subjected to a severe North Sea storm is presented. Effects of using different degradation criteria, upper and lower bound interaction diagrams defining cyclic failure, different permanent static loads, and a reduced reference static soil strength, on the cyclic axial capacity of the pile are studied. The analyses indicated that variations in most of these parameters, needed to evaluate the cyclic pile behavior, have a rather limited influence upon the pile cyclic capacity.
