Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Foundation Engineering: Current Principles and Practices

Abstract:

The state-of-practice by State transportation agencies, in the area of structural foundations, is compared between the late 1970's and the present. The structural foundation process is examined from the planning and subsurface project phase through post construction evaluation. Comparisons are made by: identifying areas of weakness, citing benefits realized from specific design and construction monitoring changes, and making predictions of future trends.
