Abstract:

Seismic evaluation of PG&E concrete dams is an ongoing process. The seismic environment for the dams changes over time because more historical earthquake data is obtained, faults are re-evaluated and engineering research is changing the state-of-the-art analysis techniques. Methods of analysis used by PG&E are described and their advantages and disadvantages are discussed.
