Abstract:

A new baseline correction method has been developed which allows accelerograms collected during quick-release tests of full scale structures to be doubly integrated to displacements. The method is a generalization and extension of the prior work of A.G. Brady. The method is equivalent to a high pass filter process which prevents all the low frequency content of the baseline having frequencies below the corner frequency of the filter from passing except the dc (zero frequency) component. This unique feature allows the recovery of the offset displacement caused by the quick-release loads.
