Abstract:

The installation of optimal control systems has been shown to be effective in reducing the vibration responses of structures. In addition to the effectiveness, there are many factors that should be taken into consideration in the design of linear control systems. In general, closed-loop systems with time delays in the loop will be subjected to more stability problems than systems without delays. The stability condition may be deteriorated as the time delay increased. This investigation examine the frequency responses of the control system and try to establish the design strategy of the controlled structures.
