Abstract:

ASCE Manual 52, Guide for Design of Steel Transmission Towers, serves as a basis for the design of both guyed and self-supporting steel transmission towers. The basic design recommendations are appropriate for individual members of truss-type structures. Chapters on geometric configurations and methods of analysis provide information on the types of structures covered and the applicable analysis criteria. Design of members includes hot-rolled and cold-formed members. Other subjects covered include design of connections, detailing and fabrication, quality assurance and quality control, construction and maintenance, foundations, and testing.
