by C. R. Beauchemin, HQ AFESC/DEHM, United States,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Engineering, Construction, and Operations in Space

Abstract:

On earth, effective methods have accommodated all functional and operational facilities and entities necessary for the handling of human remains. None have been overlooked or omitted. Accordingly, human beings must be as thorough, effective and perhaps more proficient to accommodate and meet the needs in space operations. One area we have a tendency to overlook is the occurrence of death while engaged in space operations. This article discusses facilities for the care and handling of remains in space.
