Abstract:

The concept of the Pacific Space Center advocated by Mr. Tetuso Kondo (member of the House of Representatives, former Director General of the Economic Planning Agency) and Dr. Tatsuo Yamanaka (National Aerospace Laboratory) is a grand concept for the construction of various kinds of space related facilities. In this paper, the basic concept will be described in specific terms, and through further discussion, issues arising from a macroscopic viewpoint will be identified. We have studied the fundamental conditions when developing the Pacific Space Port in concrete terms on the basis of the concept at hand.
