by Richard N. Wright, NBS, United States,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Engineering, Construction, and Operations in Space

Abstract:

This paper discusses new building technologies that will develop in the early 1990's to become significant technologies by the mid 1990's. The perspective is derived from activities of the Center for Building Technology of the National Bureau of Standards, its interactions with private and public organizations of the U.S. building community, and activities of its international peers in the International Council for Building Research, Studies and Documentation, which is reviewing trends in building technology, worldwide. The perspective considers both potential societal demands and scientific advances.
