Abstract:

The Task Committee on Density Currents and Their Applications in Hydraulic Engineering operates under the Technical Committee on Hydrologic Transport and Dispersion. The Task Committee is charged with consolidation and evaluation of the current knowledge on boundary attached density induced flows as related to hydraulic engineering. This paper outlines the mission of the Task Committee and the steps it is taking to fulfill its mission. The findings of the committee will be made available to the hydraulic engineering community through a two-part document currently in preparation.
