Abstract:

The effect on convective cells of randomized seeding for dynamic effects in the Southwest Cooperative Program is addressed. Analysis of three-dimensional, volume-scan, radar data using sophisticated tracking software indicates that silver iodide (AgI) seeding increased the area, durations and rain volumes from the cells. The apparent effect on rainfall was over 100%. These and other results are discussed.
