Abstract:

The techniques currently available for modeling urban runoff can generally be grouped into discrete and lumped system approaches. The storm water management model (SWMM) provides procedures for modeling under the first approach, while SCS TR-55 methodology is appropriate for the latter. Since these two methodologies are quite different in the manner in which the runoff processes are handled, a study was undertaken to examine this issue in detail. This is the principal focus of this paper.
