Abstract:

CADD can provide substantial benefits, in terms of speed and ease of revisions, in the design of civil engineering projects, including water resources facilities. However, current design and drafting software cannot do everything as well or as quickly as conventional approaches. It is best to maximize the utilization of CADD in the areas where its benefit is greatest. This paper discusses the aspects of water resources design that are best suited for CADD.
