Abstract:

This research proposes an intelligent design support system (DSS) integrated with a CAD environment for building site planning and development. The DSS is used for providing a good initial site layout, and for checking the design for compliance with local development regulations. This paper addresses issues in knowledge engineering, knowledge representation, and implementation involved with the design of the DSS.
