Abstract:

This paper presents a methodology for rigorously including time-varying elements of reliability through the use of the time-reliability equation. An example reliability analysis which includes the time-dependent nature of concrete compressive strength, prestress losses, and the live-load population is made for a prestressed concrete girder. The results of the example are compared to that of a conventional level III reliability analysis.
