Abstract:

The reliability of ductile and brittle structural systems under time varying loads is investigated. The formulation in the context of outcrossing of a vector process is examined. A new method based on a Markov damage model is proposed. The accuracy and efficiency of various recent methods of analysis are studied and the importance of effect of load path and load sequence is demonstrated.
