Abstract:

A procedure for first- and second-order, finite-element reliability analysis of geometrically nonlinear structures under static loads is presented. Structures are either linear or nonlinear elastic. External loads, material properties, and structural geometry are considered as basic random variables. An application to a built-up column is presented using a general-purpose computer code.
